711 Eleven Employee Arrested After Alleged Attack on Woman Picking Up Uber Eats Order

On July 21, 2023, officers from the Orlando Police Department responded to a 7-Eleven following reports of a physical altercation between two individuals. Upon arrival, officers encountered a chaotic scene involving an employee and a customer, leading to an arrest. The situation quickly escalated as authorities worked to piece together the series of events that transpired inside the store.

The incident began when a woman entered the 7-Eleven to pick up a DoorDash order, unaware that store employees had temporarily closed the premises for an inventory delivery. According to reports, an employee confronted the woman, stating that no customers were allowed inside during this time. The situation quickly turned hostile as the employee allegedly locked the doors and engaged in a physical altercation with the woman.

Body camera footage captured the responding officers attempting to de-escalate the situation. The woman claimed she was struck in the head and held down by the employee, preventing her from leaving. The employee, identified as Kareem, insisted that he was merely following store procedures and had no intention of harming the woman. However, police determined that his actions went beyond store policy, prompting them to take him into custody.

Further investigation revealed that Kareem had also damaged the woman’s phone during the altercation. When officers attempted to question him, he locked himself in a back office before eventually complying with law enforcement. Due to his actions, he was charged with false imprisonment, criminal mischief, resisting an officer, battery, and obstructing justice.
